Planted with a single amaryllis bulb, this piece is set in our unglazed serrated terracotta, where the clay remains open and porous to the touch. The stalk rises first, then four to six weeks later, the red bloom opens, a shot of color in winter light.
The proportions of the pot hold the bulb with just enough space, grounding it while keeping the focus on the upward movement of the flower. It is meant to sit close, on a table or windowsill, where the change can be followed day by day.
