BUILT BY HAND

We build every Serrated Planter by hand in our pottery studio here on the farm, using terracotta clay prepared in New England. Each begins as a slab of clay and is formed slowly from the base upward before we cut its distinctive serrated rim by hand.

The process leaves its mark. Edges wander slightly, surfaces hold the impression of fingers and tools, and the color of the fired clay varies from pot to pot. These differences are not corrected or concealed; they are part of what makes each one singular.

We came to pottery through growing plants. Years spent sowing, potting on, watering and moving plants through the nursery have shaped what we want from a pot: generous proportions, simplicity, and something that works just as well in the greenhouse as it does in the garden or at home.
