We made this thinking of our mothers. Planted with a Vermont native strawberry, small and sweet, and often taken quickly by birds and other passing animals. Here, at least for a time, you get them first.
The terracotta pot is made here in our studio, shaped with a segmented rim that allows the runners of the strawberry to find their way out and grow beyond it.
A small living thing, shaped by hand and meant to be tended, whether in the garden or the home.
